Govt Approved Upgrading Of Ward Heads Says Dampar Chiefdom
The Dampar Chiefdom in Ibbi local government area of Taraba State has said that the upgrading of Anguwan Kwala,Koso and Kogin Wase ward heads to Village heads was done with approval of the state Bureau for local government and Chieftaincy affairs and due process was followed.
The spokeperson of the Chiefdom, Alhaji Adamu Namiji Muhammed said while reacting to allegations by some youths in the chiefdom that money was collected before the three ward heads were upgraded to village heads.
Ismaila, stated that the allegations was not only false but it was baseless and was an act of mischief makers who are using some youths to cause crisis in the chiefdom which has been enjoying peace.
He explained that the upgrading of the three ward heads was based on merit and historical background of the three ward heads in the Chiefdom dated back to the period before it was upgrading and not for materials or monetary gains.
"Let me put the records straight the three wards in question are located at the border area between Taraba and Plateau state and the major tribes in that wards are Tarok, Angasawa and Kwala tribes
" These ethnic groups have existed for the past one hundred years in the area even before Dampar District was up graded to third class chiefdom and they are very loyal to Dampar traditional Rulers but some people out of mischief wanted another tribe to be appointed and posted to the upgraded wards to rule" he said
Alhaji Adamu Namiji Muhammed further said chiefdom in its wisdom and act of fairness and justice allowed the three ethnic tribe to rule their upgraded wards but some mischievous persons were not happy with the decision of the Chief of Dampar chiefdom.
According to the spoke person of the Chiefdom, the Chief of Dampar Chiefdom Alhaji Hashimu Adinga and his council have followed due process in the upgrading of the three ward head to full pledged village head following the upgrading of Dampar District to third class chiefdom by previous regime.
He therefore urged the good people of Dampar Chiefdom and the general public to disregard the false and baseless allegations by a section of Youths in the chiefdom who were sponsored by some selfish individuals who are not happy with peace and development being achieved by the Chiefdom under the able leadership of Chief of Dampar, Alhaji Hashimu Adinga and His Excellency Dr Agbu Kefas.
