Governor Agbu Kefas Directs Immediate Release of Tractors to Farmers on Loan

• Urges Rural Farmers to Form Cooperative Groups Before Next Farming Season

 Taraba State Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas has directed the immediate release of tractors to farmers in Taraba State on a loan basis, aiming to boost agricultural productivity across the state.

This initiative is part of the state government's ongoing efforts to improve access to agricultural resources, especially for low-income and rural farmers.

The Tractor Allocation Committee in Taraba State, led by key figures including Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security Professor Nicholas Namessan, the Kuru Jibu of Bali Alhaji Mahmud Abubakar Adam, and the ALGON Chairman of Taraba State and Chairman of Jalingo Local Government, Hon. Dr. Aminu Jauro Hassan, has issued a call for farmers to apply for the available tractors.

This move is expected to enhance agricultural growth and promote economic development in the state.

During a press briefing in Jalingo, the Chairman of Jalingo Local Government, Hon. Dr. Aminu Jauro Hassan, explained that the initiative aims to provide low-level farmers with access to tractors through a loan-based program. The goal is to increase agricultural productivity and drive economic growth, particularly in rural communities.

Hon. Dr. Aminu Jauro Hassan, representing Professor Nicholas, Chairman of the Tractor Allocation Committee, urged all genuine farmers in the state to form cooperative groups and societies before the next farming season. These groups will have the opportunity to access tractors that have been procured for the agricultural community. The program is designed to ensure that both financially capable and less privileged farmers can benefit from these resources, ultimately increasing their harvests.

The tractors will be available on a loan basis, making it easier for farmers who may not have the financial means to access modern farming equipment. Farmers are encouraged to approach the Tractor Allocation Committee to begin the process.

This initiative is a demonstration of the state government's commitment to promoting equitable access to agricultural tools, thereby improving the livelihoods of farmers in Taraba State.

Alhaji Mahmud Abubakar Adam, the Kuru Jibu Bali, spoke in Hausa and emphasized the importance of farmers acquiring tractors on loan. He expressed gratitude to Governor Agbu Kefas for the initiative and prayed for sustained growth in Taraba State.
