Gov Kefas To Name Proposed Wukari General Hospital After DSK

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State announced that his administration plans to build a new general hospital in Wukari, which will be named after Chief David Kente DSK, in recognition of his contributions to the community.

The announcement was made during a thanksgiving service celebrating Chief Kente's 60th birthday at the Christian Reformed Church of Nigeria (CRCN) in Wukari, Taraba.

Governor Kefas, speaking at the event, requested that Chief Kente, a retired Director of Finance at the National Assembly, either offer his parcel of land for the project at a subsidized rate or donate it to the government. The governor noted that the land was ideal for the establishment of the proposed hospital.

The event was a joint thanksgiving service held by Senator David Jimkuta, who represents Southern Taraba in the National Assembly, and Chief David Sabo Kente, who marked his 60th birthday. Senator Jimkuta expressed his gratitude to God for the guidance and support he has received throughout his political career, while Chief Kente reflected on his six decades of life, service, and the blessings he has experienced.

The celebration took place at CRC-N Kinkisu in Wukari, where the atmosphere was filled with praise and worship. Governor Kefas joined Senator Jimkuta and Chief Kente in celebrating their significant contributions to the community.

Governor Kefas praised Senator Jimkuta for his positive impact as a legislator and acknowledged Chief David Kente for his lifelong commitment to serving humanity. The governor highlighted that reaching the age of 60 is an opportunity for reflection and growth, encouraging Kente to continue mentoring younger generations and making meaningful contributions to society.

During his speech, Governor Kefas revealed the state's plans to build the new general hospital in Wukari and urged Chief Kente to consider donating the land for the project. He emphasized that the hospital would be named in Kente's honor as a tribute to his dedication to public service.

Senator Jimkuta, in his thanksgiving address, credited God for his political success, despite various challenges, and expressed deep gratitude for divine intervention in his life.

Chief David Sabo Kente, a notable politician and philanthropist, took the opportunity of his 60th birthday to engage in charitable activities, including securing the release of 15 prisoners and visiting the Federal University Teaching Hospital Wukari as well as local orphanages to spread love and support. He expressed sincere thanks to Governor Kefas for attending the service despite his busy schedule.

The sermon, titled "Give Thanks to God, He Reigns," was delivered by Rev. Dr. Isaiah Jirapye Magaji, President of CRC-N. He stressed the importance of thanksgiving as an act of worship and a means of acknowledging God's goodness, emphasizing that gratitude is essential to sustain divine blessings in our lives. He also urged leaders to prioritize service delivery as a form of divine service.

Goodwill messages were shared by several esteemed dignitaries, including the Chairman of the Council of Chiefs and Emirs, the Aku Uka, His Royal Majesty Dr. Ishaku Adda Ali, His Royal Highness Amb Sanvala Verzoa Shimbura, the Gara Donga, and Barrister Sopiya Ahmadu Gboshi, Chief of Takum. They praised both celebrants for their lifelong dedication to public service and their impact on the community.

The service concluded with special prayers for Senator Jimkuta and Chief Kente, invoking divine blessings, strength, and courage for the years ahead.
