TY Danjuma's Son Not Contesting for Taraba Governorship in 2027 – Family Source

A top member of retired General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma's family has authoritatively confirmed that none of the retired general's sons or relatives is interested in contesting for the governorship of Taraba State in 2027.

The family source also told Taraba Truth and Facts Newspaper that there was never any agreement stating that Governor Agbu Kefas would serve only one term to pave the way for General Danjuma's son to contest the governorship position.

Dispelling the widespread political rumors, Tikari TY Danjuma took to his social media handle to categorically state that he is not contesting for the Taraba governorship in 2027. He also reaffirmed support for Governor Agbu Kefas.

His post read: "I am not contesting for the Governor of Taraba State in 2027. Tarabans shall once again vote for the most loyal, most strategic, and hardworking personality, my elder brother, Dr. Agbu Kefas, a younger brother to the late Ibrahim Kefas, God willing."

Also a  family member, who requested anonymity, dismissed the speculation as baseless, emphasizing that neither General TY Danjuma nor his family has any financial interest in the state's resources.

"Politicians are trying to create controversy and distractions by spreading false narratives that the General is positioning his son to contest against the incumbent governor or that an agreement was signed. I can authoritatively confirm that such claims are false, misleading, and merely the imagination of some political lightweight.

"The people of Taraba State are happy with Governor Agbu Kefas. He may not be perfect, but his governance has had a tangible impact, and his passion for transforming the state is evident. Our patriarch, General TY Danjuma, and his family are fully supporting this administration and stand solidly behind Governor Agbu Kefas.

"What would General Danjuma need Taraba State's money for? Only a fool would make such an assertion. The General is more focused on investing in and supporting Taraba through various philanthropic initiatives. He is channeling significant resources into the state, not taking from it," the source stated.
