Reps Member, SadiqAbbas Tafida Sponsors JAMB Registration for Over 300 Students
The member representing Jalingo, Yorro, and Zing at the National Assembly, Honourable Sadiq Abbas Tafida, has sponsored the 2025 JAMB registration for over three hundred vulnerable students in his constituency.
According to the initiative, the gesture is part of the lawmaker's support for Governor Agbu Kefas' free education policy.
While speaking at the event, Senior Legislative Aide to the House of Representatives member, Yusuf Iliya, called on the students to prepare for the challenges ahead by striving for knowledge to excel in their exams.
According to him, the initiative aligns with the lawmaker's commitment to actualizing the education policies of the Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas.
Iliya noted that the students' ability to secure five credits in their WAEC and focus on attaining the required JAMB cutoff marks—sponsored by the federal lawmaker—will go a long way in complementing the purpose of the free JAMB registration program.
Also speaking, the former Chairman of Jalingo Local Government, Abdul Nasir Bobboji, commended the sponsor's efforts, stating that the initiative will motivate the beneficiaries in their academic pursuits.
He urged the beneficiaries to work hard and justify the efforts of their school administrators in supporting the lawmaker's gesture.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Taraba State Scholarship Board, Nura Danstoho, praised the lawmaker for taking a bold step in providing scholarships, which he described as a crucial response to the present economic reality.
He stated that the member has also aligned with Governor AgbuKefas' commitment to education, which is part of a long-term initiative.
Danstoho further called on the lawmaker to consider sponsoring some of the best-performing students to university level.
According to him, the Taraba State Government has plans to provide scholarships for students in the state to study in institutions across the globe.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke during the program expressed their gratitude for the gesture by the House of Representatives Member, Sadiq Abbas Tafida.
