His philanthropic work has earned him several awards, including Ambassador of Peace and Societal Development and Icon of Humanitarian Services by the Taraba State Students Union.

Recently, he was honored with a doctorate degree by Kwararafa University, Wukari, during its second combined convocation ceremony, recognizing his immense contributions to society.

Political Journey and Achievements

Chief Kente was the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 2015 Taraba State gubernatorial election before joining the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2016. He later aspired for the Taraba State governorship under the APC in 2023. His political career also includes serving as the National Assembly's Director of Finance and as a former member of the North-East Development Commission (NEDC), where he chaired the Board of Trustees for its Education Endowment Fund.

Grand Celebration and Expected Guests

Chief (Dr.) Kente and his wife, Esther, are set to host over 5,000 well-wishers, including family members, friends, colleagues, business, and political associates from across Nigeria and beyond in Wukari.

The town will witness an unprecedented influx of visitors via five major routes—Ibi, Takum, Zaki-Biam, Kente, and Jalingo—between March 1st and 3rd for the grand three-day celebration.

Hon. Shuaibu Ataka, Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, confirmed that all arrangements have been completed to ensure a memorable event.
