Gassol Chairman Commends Governor Agbu Kefas for Enhancing Security

The Chairman of Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State, Hon. Abubakar Sadiq, has praised the State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, for significantly reducing insecurity across the 12 wards of the council.

Speaking in Jalingo, the state capital, Sadiq highlighted the Governor's swift and effective response to security concerns, noting that issues such as kidnapping and banditry have been drastically curtailed under his leadership.

"Governor Kefas always responds quickly and responsibly to issues concerning security and the peaceful coexistence of the people in our local government area," Sadiq stated.

He recalled that upon assuming office, his administration was faced with severe security challenges across the 12 wards of Gassol LGA. Residents were gripped by fear, making travel unsafe due to rampant armed robbery, banditry, and kidnappings along major routes.

Expressing appreciation for the role played by traditional rulers in addressing insecurity, Sadiq acknowledged the synergy between the Royal Fathers and security agencies, which has yielded significant improvements in the safety of the area.

"The tireless efforts of traditional rulers, security agencies, and critical stakeholders have been instrumental in tackling insecurity across the local government," he noted.

He further explained that, with the support of traditional rulers, local hunters and vigilantes were mobilized to safeguard the borders and key entry points of the local government.

"I am grateful for the traditional rulers in Gassol, as well as the hardworking security agencies, including the Nigerian Army, the Police, the DSS, and the Civil Defence, among others. When it comes to security issues, they do not compromise, they act swiftly, and they are always vigilant," he emphasized.

Sadiq commended the combined efforts of vigilantes, hunters, and security agencies in tackling criminal activities, revealing that their collaboration has resulted in tangible successes.

 

"The vigilantes and hunters actively engage criminals, and with the help of the Police, Army, and Civil Defence, they have been able to subdue and apprehend hoodlums. Recognizing their dedication, I appointed a vigilante member as one of my advisers. As we speak, three different groups of vigilantes are stationed at strategic locations, carrying out their duties effectively," Sadiq added.

The Chairman reaffirmed his administration's commitment to ensuring continued peace and security in Gassol LGA, calling on residents to remain vigilant and cooperative with security agencies for a safer environment.
