Dr. Abubakar Bala Sponsors Free JAMB Registration for 100 Students
Recognizing the pivotal role of education in societal development, Dr. Abubakar Bala has taken a bold step toward empowering the youth of Taraba State by sponsoring free JAMB registration for 100 students ahead of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
This initiative aligns with the Taraba State Government's commitment to education, particularly Governor Agbu Kefas's policy of free primary education and broader efforts to strengthen key sectors such as healthcare and economic development.
The JAMB registration period, which commenced on Monday, February 3, 2025, and will end on Saturday, March 8, 2025, offers aspiring students a lifeline to higher education. Dr. Abubakar's sponsorship ensures that students from all 16 Local Government Areas of Taraba State benefit from this opportunity, with funds disbursed directly to selected candidates to eliminate financial barriers.
Dr. Abubakar Bala is a renowned accountant, humanitarian, and educationist with extensive experience in public, private, and international development sectors. Currently serving with the United Nations, he has also worked with organizations such as UNICEF, Nigeria Export-Import Bank, International Rescue Committee, International Organization for Migration, Palladium, Malaria Consortium, and First Bank Nigeria PLC. His lifelong commitment to education, financial inclusion, and social development has been evident in various initiatives aimed at empowering communities.
An Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ACA-ICAN) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (ACTI-CITN), Dr. Abubakar holds a PhD in Business Administration from City University, Cambodia, as well as M.Sc and B.Sc degrees in Business Administration and Accountancy, respectively. He further honed his expertise at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT-edX), earning a Certificate of Mastery in The Challenges of Global Poverty.
