Tiv Community Leaders Hail Mark Useni Over Intervention In Public Schools

The community leaders of Tor-Damisa in Donga local government area and Chanchanji in Takumlocal area all from the southern part of Taraba state have lauded the efforts of the member representing Takum/Donga/Ussa federal constituency Hon. Mark Useni over construction of class room blocks and provision of learning materials within the areas. 

Useni, through his Educational Intervention Program constructed and funished 2 blocks of class rooms at Adanmgbe Primary school in Chanchanji ward, a public primary school that was founded since 1976 without government intervention in terms of structures.

The federal lawmaker also constructed 2 blocks of class rooms at Government Day Secondary School Tor-Damisa, a public secondary school that was founded since 1996 with no presence of government infrastructure, the two communities are mainly dominated by Tiv speaking farmers.

The head of Tiv people in Donga (Ter Donga) ZakiUgondu Umah who convene the media at Tor-Damisa on Friday commended the intervention of Useni, stating that the construction of the 2 class room blocks has rekindled hole of both students of the school and their parents.

 

He said "since the creation of Government Day Secondary School in 1996, no government has constructed a single block of an office nor class room, we the community members have taken it open ourselves to make shelter for both the teachers and the students to encourage learning among our youths.

"The construction of the class rooms by our member house of representative Hon. Mark Bako Useni has rekindled the hope of our children, those who use to take their children outside this community have now enrolled them back, having seen that the school has gotten government attention. The monarch stated.

Also during commissioning of the 2 block of class rooms at Adanmgbe in Chanchanji, a community leader, Elder Fater Maashi who spoke on behave of the people of the area revealed that the gesture is first of it kind since the inception of the school in 1976.

"We are having a feeling of government intervention for the first time since inception of this school 1976, no government, no elected member both at the state or federal level has demonstrated this kind of gesture to us and our children.

"We have been accommodating our students under molding blocks which has scared so many parents away from the structures, with the 2 class rooms that are constructed by Hon. Useni, most people have returned their children back to school here since there is a comfortable structure where they can seat and learn, we are grateful sir. Maashi stated.

Newsmen gathered that the Hon. Mark Useni'sEducation Intervention Program has taken across the three local government areas (Takum, Donga and Ussa) with construction of class rooms and provision of learning materials.
