YEDC Commences Deployment Of 1,880 Free New Meters

In a significant move to improve customer satisfaction and provide accurate billing, Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) has begun deploying 1,880 new meters for unmetered Band A customers under the Meter Asset Funds (MAF) scheme.

Approved by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), the MAF program is part of the Presidential Metering Initiative launched on June 13, 2024, to accelerate nationwide metering. The allocation consists of 1,500 single-phase meters and 380 three-phase meters.

According to a statement released on Monday by Blessing Tunoh, YEDC Communications Officer, installation carried out by approved meter vendors, will take place from November 18 to November 30, 2024. Notably, customers will receive these meters at no cost.

YEDC urges cooperation from Band A customers during the metering exercise, ensuring seamless installation at homes and business premises.

This initiative demonstrates YEDC's commitment to enhancing electricity distribution quality, providing reliable and transparent services to all customers.
