1,000 Taraba Women Receive N50,000 Grant
About one thousand women across Taraba State have received a grant of N50,000 each to help grow their businesses and improve their livelihoods.
The grant is part of the Renewed Hope Initiative Economic Employment Program, an initiative of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Remi Tinubu. It aims to support petty traders, especially women, through the office of the First Lady of Taraba State.
While presenting the grants to the women at her office, the wife of the state governor, Mrs. Agyin Agbu Kefas, stated that the timing of the grant could not have been better. She emphasized that it would undoubtedly boost the businesses of Taraba women and improve their economic fortunes.
"I urge the beneficiaries to make good use of the grant and improve their livelihoods. On our part, we are deeply committed to ensuring that women, children, and vulnerable members of our society are supported at all times," she said.
The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, Hon. Mrs. Mary Sinjen, also spoke at the event described the Renewed Hope Initiative Economic Employment Program as a transformative initiative designed to uplift women petty traders through recapitalization grants.
She urged the beneficiaries to use the funds wisely to grow their businesses. "Together, we are building a future where women thrive, families prosper, and communities grow stronger," she said.
