New Jalingo Women Development Center Will Train 5,000 Annually - LG Boss



The Chairman of Jalingo Local Government Council, Hon. (Dr.) Aminu Jauro Hassan, has announced the construction of a state-of-the-art Women Development Center aimed at empowering women through skill acquisition and support for small-scale enterprises.

He said this initiative aligns with His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas' broader agenda for inclusive governance, focusing on sustainable development, gender equality, and economic empowerment.

The council boss said center will serve as a hub for capacity building, offering a variety of training programs in vocational skills, entrepreneurship, business management, financial literacy, ICT, digital skills, and agricultural development.

 Dr. Jauro emphasized that equipping women with these skills will enable them to start small businesses, improve their livelihoods, and make meaningful contributions to the local economy.

Located within the local government Secretariat, he noted that the center is projected to train over 5,000 women annually.

"Its establishment aims to enhance women's economic participation in Jalingo, foster a culture of entrepreneurship, boost the local economy, and promote social cohesion by bringing together women from diverse backgrounds.

"This project represents a significant investment in the future of women in the local government, paving the way for sustainable development and economic empowerment. By providing essential tools and knowledge, the center will catalyze change, benefiting not just the participants but the wider community as well."
