Gen. Faransa Orders Dismantling of Illegal Revenue Checkpoints Across Taraba

The Chairman of the Taraba State Special Taskforce Committee on the Suspension of Mining and Deforestation Activities, Retired General Faransa, has called for the dismantling of multiple illegal revenue checkpoints across the state.

During a tour of illegal revenue collection points along the highways in Lau and Yorro Local Government Areas, General Faransa emphasized the importance of consolidating legal checkpoints to better regulate and verify approved revenue vendors in the state, ultimately benefiting its growth.

He noted that designated revenue collection points would streamline the process and warned illegal collectors to cease their activities or face consequences.

The chairman also mentioned that the government is developing strategies to manage excessive revenue vendors to enhance transparency and accountability in revenue collection.

General Faransa directed that any illegal federal taskforce committees operating in the state must leave immediately, ensuring that revenue is collected through legitimate means.

He expressed satisfaction with the state's rising revenue, promising to focus on enhancing road taxes and other revenue sources for the state's benefit. He commended Governor Agbu Kefas for fostering an equitable environment for revenue collection in the state's best interest.
