TIRS Chairman Seeks Synergy with SUBEB for Revenue Boost

The Chairman of the Taraba State Board of Internal Revenue (BIRS), General Jeremiah Aliyu Faransa (Rtd), has emphasized the need for collaboration between government agencies to enhance revenue generation and service delivery.

General Faransa made this assertion during a working visit to the Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in Jalingo. The visit was aimed at fostering a strong working relationship between the two agencies and exploring avenues for mutual benefit.

The BIRS boss commended the acting chairperson of SUBEB, Mrs. Rabi Sunday, for her dedication to providing quality education for Taraba children. He noted that SUBEB's prompt remittance of taxes was commendable and indicative of good financial management.

In her response, Mrs. Sunday expressed gratitude for the visit and assured the BIRS chairman of SUBEB's commitment to working together to achieve common goals. She highlighted the importance of collaboration between government agencies for the overall development of the state.

The meeting provided a platform for discussing strategies to improve tax collection and revenue generation while supporting the educational sector through effective tax policies. Both parties agreed on the significance of their partnership in driving the state's progress.

Following the meeting, Mrs. Sunday inspected the ongoing SUBEB project site opposite the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) office. She expressed satisfaction with the project's progress, noting that work was moving steadily.
