Taraba First Lady Secures Release of 4 Inmates On World Humanitarian Day


 

As part of activities to commemorate the 2024 World Humanitarian Day, the Wife of the Taraba State Governor, Mrs Agyin Agbu Kefas has secured bail of four inmates at the Jalingo Correctional Center.

 

The First Lady explained that the gesture was borne out of her motherly passion, saying the beneficiaries are those with minor and bailable cases.

 

According to the Governor's wife, the 2024 World Humanitarian Day with the theme "Act for Humanity"is not only timely but aimed at building public support to help protect civilians especially those in critical humanitarian conditions.

 

 

Represented by her Press Secretary, Mr Solomon Bawuru, the Governor's Wife affirmed that the gesture was part of her humanitarian contributions towards the moving forward agenda of the State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas.

 

She advised the bailed not to commit the offences that led to them to prison but strive to be responsible members of the society.

 

The Comptroller of the Taraba State Correctional Service, Emmanuel Emerald Okoro commended the First Lady for her magnanimity, describing it as the first of its kind in the history of the state for the wife of the Governor to secure bail of inmates.

 

He used to the forum to commend the Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas for the support he has been rendering to the center, saying the Governor has responded positively to all the requests tabled before him by the Agency.

 

Also responding, the Assistant Comptroller of Correctional center, Salisu Isa and Deputy Comptroller of Taraba State Correctional Center, Abigail Yusuf Mbaya all lauded Mrs Agyin Agbu Kefas's efforts in ensuring that freedom is granted to those who deserves it, urging the beneficiaries not to misuse the opportunity given to them.
