Sardauna LG Chairman Distributes Free Fertilizers to Farmers

The Executive Chairman of Sardauna Local Government Council, Hon. M.J. Umar, has facilitated the distribution of free fertilizers to farmers in the area through their respective ward councilors.

The initiative, aimed at boosting agricultural productivity, was made possible through the support of the Secretary to the Government of Taraba State (SGS), Chief Barr. Gebon Timothy Kataps, and other stakeholders.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Marvelous Heli, the Chairman expressed gratitude to the SGS and other partners for their contributions to the development of the Mambilla Plateau.

To ensure the fertilizers reach the intended beneficiaries, Hon. Umar warned councilors against selling the items, threatening strict penalties for offenders. Detailed records, including video and photographic evidence, are being collected to monitor the distribution process.

Each ward councilor received 50 bags of fertilizer (25 bags NPK and 25 bags Urea) along with transportation funds to facilitate distribution.

The public has been urged to report any cases of fertilizer racketeering to the council chairman or through his official Facebook page.
