Mutum Biyu Youths Opt for Traditional Ruler’s Farm Work Over Hunger Protest

Hundreds of youths in Gassol Local Government Area have chosen an unconventional path during the recent nationwide hunger protest. Instead of joining the demonstrations, they have dedicated their time to tilling the farm of their traditional ruler, the Chief of Mutum Biyu, Justice Sani Muhammed.

The youths, armed with hoes, have volunteered their labor free of charge for the duration of the protest, as a show of support and appreciation for their chief's leadership. Abubakar Titus, the spokesperson for the group, explained that the community is predominantly agrarian, with the chief being a strong advocate for farming and self-sufficiency.

The youths' decision to engage in productive activities rather than protests highlights the unique situation in Mutum Biyu, where agriculture has been a cornerstone of the community's economy. The chief's guidance and encouragement have empowered the youth to become successful farmers, livestock rearers, and entrepreneurs.
