864 Civil Servants Receiving Double, Triple Salaries Monthly In Taraba

·         Govt Explains N2,000 Deduction from Workers' July Salaries

The Taraba State government has explained the reason behind the N2,000 deduction from civil servants' July salaries.

According to a statement from the Office of the Head of Service, the deduction was specifically for passport fees and was authorized by the appropriate authorities.

The statement also revealed that the deduction is part of an ongoing investigation into an anomaly where approximately 864 civil servants were receiving double or triple salaries monthly.

The government clarified that the funds were directly transferred to the designated company responsible for passport processing.

However, due to delays in the payment of July salaries, affected staff have been instructed to report to the Accountant General's office on Monday for verification.

The government has urged the public to disregard any misinformation circulating about the deduction.
