Jukun Community Accuses Wukari/Ibi Representative of Marginalization

The Jukun people of Wukari and Ibi Federal Constituency in Taraba state have accused their representative, Hon. Ayuba Zaku, of marginalizing their community.

In an open letter addressed to Hon. Zaku, a community leader, Thomas Apakeh, expressed disappointment over the perceived exclusion of the Jukun Wanu from the lawmaker's activities and decision-making processes.

The letter highlights the Jukun community's support for Hon. Zaku during the last election and their current frustration at being sidelined. They point to his predecessor, Hon. Danji Usman Shidi, as an example of inclusive leadership.

"We feel that you have taken sides and favored your fellow brothers without involving our community in your decision-making process," the letter states.

The Jukun community demands a more equitable distribution of resources and opportunities, emphasizing their desire to be included in policy formulation and government representation.

"We are not asking for special treatment but rather equal treatment and recognition," Apakeh wrote.

Hon. Zaku has yet to respond publicly to the accusations. This story will be updated if a response is received.
