Takum Will Be Peaceful - Information Commissioner
The appointment and presentation of the Staff of Office to the new Chief of Takum, His Royal Highness Barrister Sopiya Ahmadu Gboshi has been described as a significant milestone in the administration of Governor Kefas Agbu of Taraba State.
The state Commissioner of Information and Reoreintation Barrister Zainab Usman made this statement during a live phone interview on TSBS 90.6 FM's Hausa radio show, "Hantsi Leka Gidan Kowa," which was monitored by our reporter in Jalingo.
The historic event, marked the end of over 28 years of chieftancy tussle in Takum local government area of the state.
According to Barrister Zainab Usman, the new chief is a seasoned professional lawyer with excellent leadership qualities, well-equipped to rule.
When asked about the unusual timing of the ceremony, Barrister Zainab Usman explained that the government has the discretion to choose the time and venue for its activities.
She emphasized that the presentation of the Staff of Office was a government function, and the state government had deemed it fitting to hold the event in the evening.
The Commissioner appealed to the people of Takum to remain law-abiding and respect constituted authorities, emphasizing the importance of peaceful coexistence for the development of the community.
