Gospel Artist, Autan Zaki Leads Campaign Against Drug Abuse, Cultism, Other Vices In Taraba

 

Following a rise in the cases of drug abuse and other vices in the State, the Taraba Youth and Women Mobilisation and Awareness Movement (TAYOWOMAM) has mobilised campaign against the vices to cultists temples, shanties, brothels and other hideouts.

 

Mr Victor Bulus a Gospel Music artist, known with the stage name Autan Zaki is the coordinator of the group and convener of Taraba Youth and Women Submit

Autan Zaki urge youth in the State to develop self confidence and believe in themselves that they can indeed achieve greatness as the state offers a litany of opportunities and the present administration has already demonstrated an unprecedented level of youth friendliness.

 

Bulus said that the group, with support from the state government is championing the campaign to create awareness and enlighten the youth on the need for more productive engagements rather than destroying their future by indulging in unhealthy behaviours.

 

He noted that the future is only as bright as the character and disposition of the youth who will either make or mar the future.

 

"TAYOWOMAM, in collaboration with Taraba State Government, vehemently condemns the issue of illegal possession of weapons, drug abuse and diverse criminal activities among our youth in Taraba State. As we all know, the prevalence of these vices poses a significant threat to the safety and well-being of our communities. This is in solidarity with the moving forward mantra of His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas, the Governor of Taraba State.

 

"I am pleased to inform you that significant progress has been made in sensitizing our youths about the dangers of engaging in such activities. Through concerted efforts by the (TAYOWOMAM), and the Autan Zaki Global Foundation (AZAGOF), and other stakeholders with the support of Taraba State Government, we have been able to reach out to our youths in the cultist temples, brothels and even in shanties housing miscreants, behind the cameras, to educate them about the consequences of illegal possession of weapons and involvement in criminal activities to shun all forms of hoity-toity behaviors.

 

"It is plausible to see the commitment and dedication of all those involved in this endeavor, from our team to community leaders to grassroots activists. Together, we have been able to make giant strides in sensitizing our youth to make positive choices and become productive members of society.

 

"Furthermore, I am glad to announce the upcoming youth and women Summit organized by (TAYOWOMAM) in collaboration with the Taraba State Government. This summit will provide a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and action to further address the issues ravaging our youth and find sustainable solutions".
