Chief Philip Duwe Hails Installation Of Chief Of Takum

 

An elder stateman and the Suma of the Kwararafa Kingdom Chief Phillip Duwe have  hail the pronouncement, Installation and the presentation of staff of office to Barr. Sopiya Ahmadu Gboshi as the Gar Chamba of Takum Gboshi 111 and first class Chief of Takum by Governor Agbu Kefas.

 

In an interview with newsmen, Chief Duwe described the emergence of Barr. Sopiya Ahmadu as an act of God, saying it was a dream come through for them from the Takum extractions.

Disclosing that He was part of the struggle of the positive change in Takum today, according to him, it was a journey of over 24 years.

He said Sopiya's coming on board has broken the monopoly of tribalism, and it will usher in a new era in Takum.

He therefore, called on every tribes in Takum to embrace each other even as he pray for the Chief to succeed in his new assignment.

 

Our Correspondent reports that since the cat was let out of the bag, residents in Taraba especially those of Takum extraction have been in happy mood hence they are looking forward to when the coronation will take place in Takum.

 

 

Chief Duwe also commended Governor  Agbu Kefas for taking the Bull by the horn without minding whose ox is gored to see that the Takum Chieftaincy tussle that have lingered for 28 years is brought to an end.

 

 

It could be recalled that since the demise of His Royal Highness Ali Ibrahim in 1996, the Takum traditional stool has been vacant for the past 28 years without any tribe occupying it following arguments and disagreement between the Kuteb, Chamba's and the Kpanzon's as the Kutebs argued that the stool is exclusively for them (Kuteb) while the Chamba and the Kpanzo tribes holds a contrary view insisting that the throne belongs to all of them hence the need for rotation for fairness and Equity.

Governor Agbu Kefas who was visibly eleted at the occasion said He believed that the decision will bring the desired peace and stability to Takum Local government. His words " I stand here today to usher in a new leadership in the history of Takum Chiefdom, this is done through careful delebration and wider consultation, we have established 3 third class chiefs each representating Chamba, Kpamzo and Kuteb tribes for the purpose of inclusiveness, out of which one is elevated to first Class, my administration has taken drastic steps in addressing the long standing issue on the throne of Takum, all efforts geared toward s peace, stability and development, Takum most progress He said".
