Rep. Sadiq Tafida Kick-Off Emergency Educational Intervention, Dolls Out Cash To Students
In furtherance of Governor Agbu Kefas free education policy, Rep. Sadiq Abbas Tafida, Member Representing Jalingo Yorro Zing in the National Assembly, has announced the distribution of funds to indigent students across the three local governments that comprise his constituency as part of an emergency educational intervention for students of tertiary institutions.
Represented by Hon. Mohammad Daguma, chairman of the emergency education intervention committee, described the lawmakers' approach as novel and unique, stating that the committee's modalities for allocating resources to each student are determined by the type of course a student is enrolled in, so a uniform amount was not allocated to the beneficiaries.
Comrade Bashir Yakubu, secretary of the committee, urged those who did not make the list to be patient because this is the first batch and they may be included in future editions.
The newly elected president of Taraba State University's students union government, Jalingo comrade Rose Agada, praised the federal legislator for devising the life-saving intervention, saying he has demonstrated through his actions and deeds that he is a proactive and resourceful lawmaker.
Beneficiaries at the event praised the legislator for the gesture, praying that the Almighty would continue to strengthen him in leaps and bounds as he serves his people.
