Relatives Of Late Justice Andetur Battle Widow Over Properties

 

The wife of the late former Chief Justice of Taraba state, Justice Philibus Andetur, Mrs. Destiny Andeturhave filed a complaint to the Taraba state Commissioner of Police, over a threat to her life and trespassing of her late husband's properties.

 

Taraba Truth and Facts gathered that crisis began in the family when relatives of the late former Chief Judge forcefully postponed the burial ceremony of the late Justice Philibus Andetur over control of properties.

 

 

The widow in a letter addressed to the Taraba state Police Commissioner, through her lawyer, Barrister Joshua Jeremiah revealed that the family members of her late husband, have occupied her apartment, disrupted her personal activities and denied her relatives entry to the property to mourn with her over her husband's demise.

 

The letter also disclosed that the said wife is legally married to the late Chief Judge, while also acknowledging that the late Chief Judge, was not in good terms with the members of his family until his demise in 2024.

 

"Our client was married to his Lordship, late Hon. Justice Philibus Andetur, until his death in 2024"

That prior to his death, late Justice Philibus Andetur, had a strained relationship with members of his family, and has not been relating fine with them prior to her marriage to him.

 

According to the letter, the wife of the late Chief Judge, also disclosed the names of the family members behind the purported threat, as Lois, Kande, and others, whom she accused of relocating to her apartment after the death of her husband under the supervision of Mr Timothy Andetur, Barr. Markus Apwende, and Mr Bala Raphael.

 

The complaint letter also revealed that the said family members have been threatening the life of the deceased wife to hand over the financial documents of the late Chief Judge and that they have forcefully made her to withdraw over one million naira from her late husband's account and handed the said money to them.

 

The letter however disclosed that the late Chief Judge's has no intention to be greedy or take over her late husband's property for any reason.

 

Meanwhile the letter requested that the Commissioner of Police to compel the family members to stay away from her apartment, and move the burial arrangements to the late Chief Judge's other property in Nukkai, and allow her to properly mourn her husband.

 

Efforts to get relatives of the  late former Chief Justice of Taraba state, Justice Philibus Andeturspeak on this development proves abortive as at time of this report.
