‘Gov Kefas Tractors’ Set For Distribution, 60 Youths Trained On Repairs

The Government of Taraba State has commenced bringing in the first batch of imported Cabrio Tractors, mini tractors, accessories and spare parts to the state. 

 

Governor Agbu Kefas had months ago entered into an agreement with Knights A.S of the Czech Republic to supply 100 sets of Caprio compact tractors and 750 mini tractors to improve agricultural practices and increase general agricultural output in the state.

 

Speaking on the equipment, the state Commissioner of Agriculture and Food Security, Prof. Nicholas Oliver Namessan, confirmed that the first batch contained 20 Cabrio Compact Tractors and 250 Global Mini Tractors. 

 

According to him, the second batch will arrive in the next few weeks and assured Farmers of the readiness of the government to revamp the agricultural sector.

 

He said the distribution of the machinery is targeted at genuine farmers in the State, immediately after its commissioning by the Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas also very soon.

 

Prof Namessan, further noted that 60 youths have been undergoing training on various aspects of the tractors' operations and maintenance for the past two months in the first batch of the training also with the view to also train them overseas.
