Tiv Youth Hails Gov Kefas Action To Address Killings In Donga

Youth Leader of the Tiv Culture and Social Association (TCSA) in Taraba Comrade Victor Salemga, has commended Gov. Agbu Kefas for his quick response to the dastardly killing of Tiv travellers in Donga Local Government Area of the state.

Salemga made the commendation while briefing newsmen on Friday in Jalingo.

He said that the action of the governor has helped in de-escalation of the crisis within the region.

He recalled that the directive by the governor to the security agencies to ensure that the culprit were fished out had further doused the tention generated as the result of the killing as well as portrayed the governor as a man of peace and justice.

He called on the Tiv youth to avoid taking of laws into their hands.

The youth leader appealed to the governor to ensure that the victims got a befitting burial as well as to ensure that such act did not reoccur in the state .again.

" I want to thank our amiable governor for his quick response to the dastardly killing of Tiv commuters.

"The action of his excellency is a demonstration of a leader that is sensitive to situations that affect humanity.

"His directives to the security agencies also demonstrated his seriousness and commitment in maintaining peace and order in the state.

"I will also appealed to the state government to assist the families of the victims by ensuring that they are given befiting burials.

"To my brothers, I am still appealing to them to remain calm as the governor is indeed on top of the situation and will soon ensure that the culprits are brought to book,'' Salemga said.

It will be recalled that seven commuters from Benue to Maihula in Bali, Taraba were attacked and killed by suspected Vigilante Group in Donga Local Government Area.

The Chairman of the council accompanied by the police recovered the dead bodies of the victims.

Gov. Agbu Kefas condemned the attack and ordered the security agencies to fish out perpatrators of the act.
