Wukari Progressing Under My Leadership, Aku Uka Speaks On 2 Years On Throne

The Aku Uka and Taraba State Chairman of the Council Chiefs and Emirs,, Manu Ishaku Ada Ali says leadership at whatever level is challenging but that his two years on the throne of his ancestors was eventful.

The Aku Uka who was speaking on the journey so far, said the support and understanding as well as the corporation he enjoys from both the government, his colleagues and the people has been the driving force to the many successes he was able to achieve.

The royal father said before coming on board, the area was battling with numerous challenges ranging from communal and tribal crisis, pocket of criminalities and farmers/herders clashes. 

He stressed that knowing fully aware that these problems pose great threats to any meaningful development, he immediately explored possible ways to tackle the ugly trend.

According to him, he engaged government, stakeholders, opinion leader's and security agencies and after numerous interfaces, peace was restored in the area.

He said crime has been reduced to zero level as the area is no longer a breeding ground for criminals, saying Wukari is home to everybody irrespective of ethnicity or religious inclination. 

Manu Ishaku Adda Ali added that the area is certainly not a home for trouble makers who do not mean well for the well-being of the people and are bent on tarnishing the good name of the area, warning them to desist from such evil thoughts "as the people are peace loving, hospitable and very accommodating".

The Aku Uka appreciated the immediate past Governor of the state, Architect Darius Dickson Ishaku for the pivotal role he played that lead to his ascension while lauding the present Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas for his support, describing the Governor as the shining light of not only the area but the state as a whole.

He said Kwararafa Kingdom would not have asked for any son than the Governor whom he said has made the kingdom proud, tasking the people to support the Governor to continue to execute meaningful projects that have direct bearing on the lives of the people.

Manu Ishaku Ada Ali admonished the people to work towards peaceful coexistence with one another by eschewing all forms of bitterness for the progress of Kwararafa Kingdom.

He solicited the support of the people for him to succeed, saying without their support, he will not be able to provide them with quality leadership.

He said so far he has been enjoying the patronage and support accorded his predecessor adding that he intends to build on the gains to continue to give them purposeful leadership as well as protect their lives and property, assuring that he will work according to the ethics and traditional norms of the Jukun Kingdom.

The paramount ruler said the raining season will soon set in and farming activities will soon commence, appealing to farmers and herders to exhibit high sense of maturity and responsibility to avoid anything that will breach the peace of the area and the state.

He called on them to always report problems to the traditional council or security agencies for amicable resolutions for the sake of peace.

The Aku Uka also advised farmers not to be in a hurry to sell off their farm products, looking at the prevailing economic hardships in the country.

He used the forum to Commend Governor Kefas for his various achievements which include the free education policy, the fifty percent reduction in tertiary institutions fees, free medical treatment and donation of official vehicles to traditional rulers as well as carrying royal the fathers along in the scheme of things, saying it is the right steps in the right direction.

He equally thanked traditional rulers within and outside the state for their support and advise, pledging to work closely with them for the protection of his people and for their well-being.

He cautioned parents to monitor their children at all times with the view to instill in them moral values for them to be useful members of the society thereby promoting good reputation to their families.

The royal father frowned at the moral decay in the society especially among children who are said to be leaders of tomorrow, urging parents to immediately rise up to their responsibilities before the ugly trend gets out of hands as some of these children have constituted themselves as nuisance and great danger to responsible children.

Manu Ishaku Adda Ali said since he ascended the throne, he doesn't condone such negative behaviors, noting that he will continue to engage parents through sensitization on the dangers of not living up to their responsibilities.

The Aku Uka also warned criminals especially kidnappers to stay clear of the area as they will pay dearly if they are caught while appealing to village and district head's to always monitor and be on alert to report any faced in their communities to security personnel for the law to take its proper course.
