Taraba Plans Endowment Fund For Rebuilding Crises-Ridden Communities

The Taraba State Government is planning to launch an endowment fund for the rebuilding of Takum and other crises areas in the state to bring back the lost glories of the affected communities.

The State Governor Dr Agbu Kefas disclosed this at the Exco Chambers Government House, Jalingo while receiving the report of the visitation Panel for projects executed by General TY Danjuma in the area.

He said friends and well wishers of Taraba State will be invited to contribute to the rebuilding of the affected areas.

The Governor maintained that the gesture will bring about forgiveness and healing of wounds in the areas that have experienced conflicts since the creation of the state

noting that the time has passed when nothing good or positive is said about Taraba State except conflicts and crises.

Dr. Kefas solicited the support and cooperation of all irrespective of inclinations to change the narratives about Taraba State for the better.

He said many projects were executed in Takum and it is now left for the state to utilize them for the benefit of the people

and assured the commitment of his administration to improve the life of the common man in the state.

The Governor urged the people to embrace all positive changes that will come their way and pledged to do justice to all category of people and shades of opinion in the state.

He also disclosed that a five Star hotel will be built in Takum to provide accommodation for tourists who will be visiting the state advising

the panel to plead to land owners close to the Gen TY Danjuma University Takum to sell them to the State Government to be donated for the expansion of the university.

Presenting the report, leader of the visitation panel, Dr. Emmanuel Lawson commended General TY Danjuma for the citing the university, of World class standard in Takum which will impact possitively on the development of the State.

Dr. Lawson said all the projects cited by General Danjuma in Takum were meant to service the public and not for profit making which necessitated

the Constitution of a team by the Taraba State Goverment to appreciate General TY Danjuma for the impactful projects which are beneficial to all indigenes of the State and Nigeria.

He urged the Taraba State Government to create a forum or platform to bring together elites from Southern Taraba to discuss ways and modalities for ensuring lasting peace in the Southern zone of the State.

Meanwhle, all is now set for the Commisioning of the Kasimbilla Dam and Airport In Takum Local Govermment area of Taraba State.

The commissioning slated for February 23rd,2024 is to be performed by Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

Already, the Taraba State Government has Constituted a high powered Committee headed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor Mr. Jeji William Mni with Commissioners, Legislators and top Govermment functionaries as members for the Inauguration of the Projects.
