Promo on Cover: Amb Peter Shenwun Is Not Our Member- APC Ward Chairman

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC in Lissam 2 ward of Ussa Local Government Hon Rimamtso Akawu has debunk claims that  Ambassador Peter Shenwun was a member of the APC.

Akawu in a statement said Ambassador Peter Shenwun who is the PDP Chairmanship candidate for Ussa Local Government in the forthcoming Saturday election has never worked for the APC.

The statement reads in part: My attention has been drawn to a number of publications in the social media on the recent and well-deserved emergence of Ambassador Peter Shenwun, as the chairmanship candidate of our rival political party, the People Democratic Party (PDP), for Ussa Local Government, in the forthcoming Local Government election in Taraba state.

In the write-ups, the writers are erroneously making the statement that Ambassador Peter Shenwun is a member of the All Progressives Congress, (APC). As the Ward Chairman of Lissam 2, I will like to state that Ambassador Peter Shenwun was never, and is never a registered member of APC. The All Progressive Congress, as a party, has rules and regulations that guide our procedure for membership recruitment. You must register in your ward of origin, and pay your required dues to become a card carrying member. Even though Ambassador Peter Shenwun is from Lissam 2, he did not present himself to be registered in the ward as a APC member. I want to state categorically that we do not have any record in the ward that shows that Ambassador Peter Shenwun is a card carrying member of APC.

Ambassador Peter Shenwun is an illustrious son of Askaen, a clan of the Kuteb nation, and a respectable member of the Askaen community. As an enlighten and well-exposed person, he knows the procedure of being a member of a party. He has made his choice of preferred party, the PDP. The general public and mischief makers should respect that choice and stop raising unnecessary dust over nothing.
