Group Hails Gov Kefas, Philip Dunwe Over Successful LG Poll

The Taraba State Democracy Alliance Group has commended Governor Agbu Kefas and the Chairman of the Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission Philip Dunwe for the success of the local government elections in the state.

The Chairman of the Group, Charles Baki while giving the commendations today in Jalingo, said the neglect of the electorate by some corrupt caretakers, in the local government areas, was the reason for the low tunout in the voting process.

He stated that the move by the state governor, to give national subventions to elected local council chairmen for development purposes of their areas is a move to the right direction.

According, to Baki, the involvement of youths in governance, in the state is the governor's commitment to a democratic process for the benefit of the people.

Baki, also commended the Taraba Independent Electoral Commission for tackling critical issues in the electioneering process before the local council elections.

The group called on Tarabans to support the agenda of governor Agbu Kefas in moving Taraba State forward as it is the only way the state will succeed.
