Documents Show Former Governor Darius Ishaku Sold Jalingo Trade Fair Complex, But Commissioner Says No Transaction Records In Handing Over Notes

The Federal High Court in Jalingo has ordered the Taraba State Government to stop work with immediate effect at the Jalingo Trade Fair Complex.
This followed a case filed by the Federal Government claiming that the Jalingo Trade Fair Complex was sold to it by the immediate past administration of Governor Darius Ishaku for the building of a Federal Secretariat in the State and presented a duly signed document showing valid transaction between the Taraba State Government and the Federal Government on the sale of the Trade Fair Complex.
Reacting on the issue, Taraba State Commissioner for Commerce and Industries Mr. Peter George debunked the transactions saying that the sale of the Jalingo Trade Fair Complex was not contained in the hand over document presented to the present Administration in Taraba State.
"The purported selling of the Trade Fair Complex is illegal and counter productive, the Taraba State Goverment Will try it possible best to recover its landed property" the Commissioner said.
He said that Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas has already allocated land for the building of a Federal Secreteriat in Jalingo.
The Court injunction stopping work by the Taraba State Government at the Jalingo Trade Fair Complex is a serious set back to the efforts of Governor Agbu Kefas to modernise and give the Trade Fair Complex a new look in which contractors have already been mobilised to site and started work in earnest.
