Outrage Over Murder, Rape Of Lady In Lankaviri

The peaceful town of Lankaviri in Yoro Local Government Area (LGA) is reeling from a horrific incident that has left its residents in a state of profound shock and anguish. In a shocking act of violence, a young lady was brutally raped and slaughtered, plunging her family and the local community into a deep sense of grief. 

 

According to Mr. Emmanuel Yula, a resident of Lankaviri, the tragic incident unfolded as the victim, identified as Wasa Joel, was making her way back from Anguwar Mission to AnguwarDanzang. It was during this journey that she encountered an unknown assailant who subjected her to a brutal sexual assault before mercilessly taking her life. The details surrounding the incident are still being investigated by the authorities.

 

Meanwhile, members of the community have taken to social media to demand for justice.

 

According to  Moses Keke Kemuel, the Chief of the community, HRH Gana Mago, has called for calm following the gruesome murder.

 

According to Police Public relations officer of Taraba state Police Command Asp. Usman Abdullahi, a full-scale investigation into the incident, determined to identify the perpetrators and ensure that they face the full force of the lawhas commenced. 

He urged anyone with information related to the crime to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
