After Receiving N56m, Contractor Abandons Lissam 1km Road Project

The contractor handling the construction of a 1-kilometer road project in Lissam community area of Ussa Local government has abandoned the project despite receiving a total sum of N56,070,000 in disbursement for the project.

 

The contracting company, A4 Ventures Limited was awarded the project in 2022 as a Federal government capita project under the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment with Industrial Arbitration Panel as an executing agency.

 

Tracka.ng said the project which is expected to cost  N170,000,000 as at 11th of August 2023 was abandoned the site with contractor equipment removed from site.

 

Aside from abandoning the project, Tracka.ng reports that drainages constructed around Sabo Gida Lissam, have failed already as blocks were used against concrete slaps. "The portion constructed so far has no asphalt. This causes a dusty environment any day it doesn't rain. It could be worse in the dry season. As of the time of this report, the contractor has abandoned the site with his equipment removed."

 

The Project tracking official said on 17th and 19th November 2022, the sums of N47,575,000 and N8,495,000 were disbursed to one "A4 Ventures Limited" respectively. Making a total sum of N56,070,000 in disbursement to the contractor (A4 Ventures Limited) for this budget line item as of 19th November 2022.

 

When Tracka.ng  visited the project site through a community champion on 11th August 2023, reported that although the contractor reported to the site months ago, the contractor has since abandoned the site over a month ago.
