PDP Delegate Says Hon. Imam Ibrahim ‘Forcefully Collected His Money After Losing Primary Election To Late Maihanchi’

 

A Delegates who participated in the last Peoples Democratic Party PDP primary election for Jalingo, Yorro, Zing Federal Constituency said former commissioner for youths and sport Hon Imam Ibrahim forcefully collected money he gave delegates after losing the primary election.

 

The Delegate in an exclusive interview with Taraba Truth and Facts Newspaper urged the State PDP Chairman Alhaji Abubakar Bawa to probe the activities of Hon Imam Ibrahim after losing the primary election that brought late Member elect Hon Ismaila Maihanchi as PDP Candidate for the election.

 

The Delegate accused Hon Imam Ibrahim of using his supporters to go after many delegates to 'retrieve his money after losing the primary election.'

 

"During the last primaries at Jolly Nyame stadium Hon Imam got 27 votes, while Late Maihanchi got 67 votes, close to the ending of the counting process, supporters of Hon Imam started harassing delegates to collect the money their principal gave use before the election.

 

"Hon Imam had given each delegate N250,000 to buy our supports, but many of the delegates didn't vote for him because they knew he can't win the general election. He got only 11 votes from delegates of Zing and those that didn't votes him were harassed by his supporters to return the money. 

 

"While Jalingo delegates that left Jolly Nyame Stadium at that same night Hon imam instructed his boys to meet them in their respective houses and collect the 250k given by him, some of them in the process lost their smart phones.

 

The |Delegate recalled that during the primaries at Jolly Nyame Stadium Hon Imam boys humiliated many delegates of Jalingo, Yorro and Zing a lot of the delegates were beaten up by his group of boys, and they followed all the delegates that refuses to vote him to their houses to collect the sum of 250k given by Hon Imam. 

 

 "PDP has never won Jalingo, Yorro, Zing and we were concern about the party winning the election, so we voted in the interest of the party not because of money.

 

Asked if the case was the reported to Security Agencies, the Delegate said "We told party elders and leaders of Imam actions against the delegates but we didn't report to security agencies because it was a political affair.

"In the first place Hon Imam should be sanctioned by the party because of lack of sportsmanship spirit, after losing the primary election Hon. Imam didn't work for the victory of PDP at the Federal Constituency, he didn't support late Maihanchi during the election, rather he collected the money he gave the delegates back from them forcefully.

 

The Delegate however called on the Party Chairman and Governor Kefas Agbu to put the interest of party as priority ahead of the bye election.

 

"The PDP should retain that seat and that can only be possible if a right candidate is presented , some aspirants cannot win Jalingo, Yorro Zing for the PDP.
