Kwararafa Galaxy Club Trains 82 Mathematics, Science Teachers In Wukari


The Kwararafa Galaxy Club, a Non Governmental Organization, in partnership with the T.Y Danjuma Foundation, begins a three-day Primary School teachers training on Mathematics and Science subjects in Wukari local government, Taraba state. 

 

Speaking at a training held at Ichondi hall in Wukari, the group who is funded by the TY Danjuma foundation advocate for improvement in the quality of Mathematics and science teachers in Primary School in Taraba.

 

According to Associate Professor Sabo Zaku the Executive Director of Kwararafa Galaxy Club asserts that, "Given the critical roles of teachers in the education sector.


It is hoped that this programme will enhance the quality of mathematics education in public and private primary schools, ultimately improving the overall quality and standard of education in Taraba."

 

Zaku stated that the Club in partnership with the TY Danjuma Foundation is aimed at training quality science teachers, since science is the bedrock that provides the springboard for the growth of technology. 

 

Zaku added that, "The aim of the subject-enhancement programme is to provide teachers with the knowledge and skills they need to perform effectively in the classroom. Mathematics and science therefore, play a vital role in nation building such as medicine, engineering, agriculture, transportation, and communication respectively" he said .

 

He further acknowledged the Board of Directors of the TY Danjuma Foundation, saying that the Foundation is a legacy of Gen. TY Danjuma, who is an advocate for quality education across the country.

 

In his remarks, the state coordinator of the TY Danjuma Foundation Emmanuel Ishaku, said the quality of education is falling, and the foundation is aiming at building teachers in the next 5 years to improve the quality of education.
