Gov Ishaku Moves To Control Party Structure, State Assembly After Leaving Office




As Governor Darius Ishaku has commenced moves to weigh some political powers in the state even after leaving office on May 29th when his tenure as governor and political leader of his party comes to an end.

 The moves, Taraba Truth and Facts gathered includes controlling the party structure at the state level; planting loyalists as Local Government Chairmen and Ward Councilors:  and installing the next Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly.

 Political Sources informed Taraba Truth and Facts newspaper that Stakeholders in the PDP had agreed on arrangement to zone its party Chairman to the North while the Speaker of the 10th Assembly will come from the Central Zone.

 The governor altered the arrangements that Party Chairman will be zoned to North while the Speaker will come from Central Zone. He rushed by installing his political adviser as Party Chairman and plans to ensure the incumbent speaker Hon  John Kito Bozena returns as speaker  in the next Assembly.

Bonzena and Bawa are believed to be core loyalists and members of the  Governor Ishaku's kitchen cabinet.

 Governor Ishaku fears that he might be out of political relevance after his tenure. The governor has also concluded plans to conduct Local Government elections before leaving office in other to maintain some political grab after his tenure.

 Many residents believe governor Ishaku should concentrate on completing all ongoing projects in the state rather than engaging himself in issues that should be left for the next administration.

 National President of Jukun Development Association of Nigeria JDAN, Chief Bako Benjamin warns that some recent actions of the Governor Darius Ishaku are targeted at  sabotaging the incoming Governor of Taraba State Col Agbu Kefas

 Bako said Governor Darius has been sabotaging Agbu Kefas before the elections, during the elections, and even after the elections. 

 He lamented that the outgoing Governor appointment of a new party chairman and plans to conduct fresh local government elections just a few days before the expiration of his tenure to make life difficult for the incoming government. 

Bako  added that Governor Darius has shown no sign of readiness of cooperating with incoming Governor on state and political affairs after he emerged as governor elect.. 

 Bako calls on political leaders in the state to guide the outgoing Governor on certain duties of an outgoing Governor. 

 All efforts to get the reaction of the governor proved abortive as the Special adviser to the governor on media and publicity Bala Dan Abu did not pick up his calls nor reply to text and WhatsApp messages sent to him
