Guber Ticket Crisis: Bwacha Discreetly Opts For Plan B

Embattled Senator Emmanuel Bwacha have discreetly launched a plan to participate in the governorship election on the platform of another political party should his efforts to reclaim the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress APC fails, Taraba Truth and Facts gathered.

A Federal High Court ruling has sacked Senator Emmanuel Bwacha as candidate of the party, relying on the evidence before it  that no governorship primary was held in Taraba, Justice Simon Amobeda ordered a fresh primary within 14 days.

Meanwhile, Senator Bwacha last week filed an appeal against the judgment at the Court of Appeal Yola  but his henchmen have launched a  plan B to ensure 'their investment into the governorship election does not goes down the drain.'

Taraba Truth and Fact newspaper gathered that Embattled Bwacha had met with the Governorship candidate of the African Action Congress AAC, David Charima in Abuja for some discussions after the judgment sacking him as APC candidate.

According to sources in the Bwacha's camp, the youthful governorship candidate of a political party has been placed on standby to pave way for Senator Bwacha entrance to the party.

 

Taraba Truth and Facts gathered that the plan is for the candidate of the AAC candidate to withdraw from the race should the Appeal Court upheld the judgment of the lower court to pave way for Senator Bwacha to emerge the new candidate to participate in the election.

 

"Senator Bwacha had discreetly met with AAC candidate in Abuja and talks are at high level, we are waiting for the decision of the Appeal Court to make our next move. Some stakeholders in APC are bent on not ensuring Bwacha emerge the candidate of the APC, the crisis in the APC is overwhelming the campaign, the stakeholders are not interested in APC winning the election, they are only interested in stopping Bwacha's candidacy in the election."

 

Another source in the Bwacha's camp said they are exploring all legal means to reclaim the party's ticket.

"It's mere speculations, we have good relationship with some parties and their governorship candidates but we have not approached anyone of them to give us his ticket to us. If any party wishes to adopt Bwacha as it's candidate so far as it's in tandem with the electoral act it's a welcome option, the most important thing is that Bwacha emerges as governor of Taraba state in 2023."

 

A chieftain of the APC who is described as the brain box of the Bwacha's campaign movement recently boasted in Abuja that they would stop at nothing to ensure Senator  Bwacha is  on the ballot for the election.

 

The chieftain who is an appointee of the Federal Government was quoted to have said "We will be on the ballot for the next election, with or without APC. Bwacha is a movement beyond party, you will agree with us that the APC became a force immediately Bwacha joined the party some months ago, he came into the party with people who could win elections.

 

"So if the old guys in the APC think they are frustrating Bwacha's ambition it's the party that would suffer as a matter of fact several political parties are willing to give us their governorship ticket because they are convinced that he would win elections. Politics is all about winning elections and that is out goals and for us to achieve that we must be on the ballot," the chieftain told some kitchen cabinets of the Bwacha's campaign.  

 

Taraba Truth and Facts gathered that although Bwacha has the support of the APC National Chairman Senator Abdullahi Adamu, other members of the party National Working Committee of the party had opposed Bwacha appealing the ruling of the Federal High Court as it would further waste the party's time to concentrate on the elections.

 

Some NWC members had advised that the party goes in for a fresh primary and supports whosoever emerges as the candidate of the party.
