Ishaku Listed Achievements, Vows To Complete All Projects

Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has reiterated his willingness to complete all projects started by his administration before the end of his tenure.

 

The Governor gave the assurance during his broadcast in commemoration of the creation of Taraba state.

 

Governor Ishaku in the broadcast, admonished past leaders and highlighted some significant achievements of his administration in various sectors such as education, health, housing, works, poverty alleviation, stressing that his administration equally distributed government projects across the three geopolitical zones of the state.

 

"Given the remarkable transformation we have seen in the eventful thirty one years in terms of human and material growth index, where many visions and aspirations have been fulfilled and goals achieved, there is no doubt that the foundation of Taraba State on August 27, 1991 justify the aspirations of the citizens."

 

"Since the beginning of this administration, we have institutionalized transparency rewards from hard work and an unmatched development model that has allowed government projects to be distributed equally and have a direct impact on the overall socio-economic development of Taraba State."

 

 

"Allow me to once more state that all projects started by my administration will be finished and put into service before the end of our tenure. These include, among other things, the DDI garden housing project in the city which I hope will also be a boost to the newly improved civil servants, as each one of them will be encouraged to take a form, complete and fill to own a house and the 5,000,000 litres Greater Jalingo water project I hope to complete before the end of this tenure."

 

The Governor said that any form of development without an increase in quality of life will be meaningless, which was why his administration gave the development of human capital a high priority in full even as they are set to conduct the first transparent recruitment process in the civil service since the founding of the state.

 

On Poverty Alleviation, the Governor said that his administration began a skills training scheme through the poverty alleviation programs in conjunction with the Hope Afresh Foundation Taraba of the First lady, Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku which have trained many youths in practical trades, many of which are now self-employed.

 

On Education, Governor Ishaku said his administration allocated scarce resources to crucial areas like staff recruitment, training and the provision of infrastructure and educational material which resulted in excellent performance of students in senior secondary school external examinations, consistently placing Taraba state first in northern Nigeria as a result of these investments in education.

 

On Health, he said that his administration placed first rate medical facilities in every geopolitical zone, as well as the expansion of the Primary Health coverage to service the rural areas, stressing that virtually all the 168 wards have a Primary Health centre with the hiring of qualified medical personnel, provision of equipment and medical supplies.

 

The Governor said that his administration's resolve in the health sector was further illustrated in the state's readiness during the coronavirus outbreak and the relatively low incidences of coronavirus cases that were recorded.

 

He highlighted some accomplishments that have been replicated throughout the state in the construction of urban and rural roads to include the Mararraba-Baissa-Abong road, the Gada-Lacheke-Pantisawa road, Wukari-Tsokundi road and the multi-billion naira 18km Pantisawa to Jauro Yinu dual carriage way with a fly over at the roadblock, second Nukkai bridge and 6 pedestrian bridges across this road and urge Tarabans to avoid politics of resentment even as we get closer to the general elections at the beginning of the coming year.
