Gov Ishaku Vows To Discipline Underperforming LG Boss


 



Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku while  swearing in 16 local councils caretaker committee chairmen, vowed to deal with any of the caretaker chairmen who perform below his expectations.

 

While delivering his speech during the swearing-in that was held at the Government House, Jalingo, the governor said, "I won't think twice to discipline any underperforming chairman who abuses this privilege for personal gain."

 

He also cautioned them against using their new position selfish political ambitions.

 

He said he would not condone abandoning their task of ensuring people have access to good governance to chase political ambitions.

 

Ishaku also urged them to participate in the administration's overall grand design, which entails "good governance, provision of infrastructure, and the overall well-being of all residents of the state."

 

Urging them to prioritize the maintenance of peace in their respective councils, he said doing such would enable the government at the state level to herald the much-desired development to the grassroots.

 

Ishaku, who did not also spare the public, warned them against putting undue pressure on the appointees by making demands that could prevent them from completing the crucial task of enhancing the populace's quality of life.

Similarly, the Caretaker Chairmen sworn in are Ismaila Zakari,Ardo Kola Local Government Area,Aminu Jauro Hassan Jalingo,Bala Bako Ibi,Amamzala John Joseph Kurmi,Ali Nicodemus Iki Donga,Micah Danbaba Bali, Andrew Luka Zanya Zing and Abubakar Jugulde Sardauna Local Government Areas.

 

Others are Adi Daniel Wukari, Nemuel Tuno Yorro,Abershi Musa Ussa,Paul Garba Dogo Gashaka, Boyi Manja Takum,Pastor Daniel Zading Lau and Danasali Biru Gassol Local Government Areas.

 

The oath of office and allegiance was administered by the State Chief Judge, Philibus Andetur represented by Justice Joel Agya after which Governor Ishaku congratulated the new appointees and asked them to ensure good governance, provision of infrastructure and ensure they do their major task and concentrate on their political ambitions. He warned that those found wanting will be disciplined.

 

The caretaker Chairmen are expected to swear in their Vice and Councilors in their respective Local Government Areas.

 

Meanwhile many attendees ended up frowning and could not resist being angry as they had to wait for about four hours before Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku's arrival at the venue of the occasion.

 

The Governor who swore-in 16 local councils caretaker committee chairmen however did not apologies for keeping the guests waiting.

 

Taraba Truth and Facts Newspaper gathered that some people had angrily left the venue after waiting for some hours while the close associates to the commisioners and CTC chairmen who were sworn in patiently waited as they had no choice but later grumbled as the governor did not feel remorse for  unnecessarily  delaying the event which was scheduled to start by 2pm.
