Activist Writes Gov Ishaku Over Alleged Imposition Of District Head In Tella
The Coordinator Taraba Concerned Citizens Forum Comrade Mansur Munkaila Jirgi have warned against alleged imposition of a District Head for Tella town in Gassol Local Government area.
Jirgi in an open letter to Governor Darius Ishaku said it has come to "our noticed that under your watch as the chief executive officer of the state pressure are been mounted on your able office to dethrone the current District head and also to direct for coronation of a Jukun Minority who is also a religious leader as the District head in the town.
"Your Excellency sir, doing that can seriously results to another unrest in the town and for me as activist and patriotic Citizens I have today discharged my duty by writing this letter to you.
"Before your assumption as the executive Governor of the state there was a religion crises on Thursday the 12 March 2015 in the Community where Houses were burn, most churches were affected and two Mosques were also burn down as a results of tribal and religious crises.
"With pain and bleeding heart I want to tell you that there are some Hausa and Churches that are yet to be rebuild as the result of that religious conflict that occurred since 2015 and installing a District head from Jukun area (Anguwan Jukun) can only throne the Jukun Community in the town in to a fresh trouble because of their small numbers.
"Your Excellency sir, as an elderly person and well respected Governor even among your colleagues (NGF) do not allowed anyone or Group of people to tarnish your name as the cause of another religious crises even for posterity purpose.
"Your Excellency on your assumption in office to date two chiefdom were created out of Gassol Chiefdom which resulted to more division among our people despite protest by our Elders Forum and if should incase any Chief seems to be the problem of the area let him Please be lawfully Dethrone and another person should be selected among the Ruling Houses so that we can go back to our single and unified Chiefdom (Leddi Gassol) like our counterpart Mutum Biyu Chiefdom
"Your Excellency, basically everyone in Taraba state is religiously sentimental and it is my hope that His Excellency as the Most Elderly Governor in the Country will immediately stop the imposition of the District head of Tella for the purpose of security stability, Justice and Fair play to all of us in Tella," Jirgi writes.
