Taraba APC Guber Primary Suspended
The Taraba State APC did not hold its primary elections today due to security reasons, Taraba Truth and Facts gathered.
Stakeholders of the party after a meeting with the APC electoral committee and the state commissioner of police this evening agreed that the primary election should be put on hold.
The meeting which was at the instance of the Deputy National Woman Leader Hajiya Zainab Ibrahim on her arrival from Abuja this evening.
The Committee saddled with handling the Primaries ran into issues related to fraud and insincerity.
The Committee of five, headed by Chief Lawrence Onuchukwu, campaign coordinator and close political ally to APC's National Chairman, Sen Abdullahi Adamu, has thrown the Taraba State process into a serious hitch.
First, the Committee was also accused of siding with a gubernatorial aspirant, Sen Emmanuel Bwacha, who only recently decamped to the APC after being pushed out of the PDP by Gov Darius Dickson Ishaku, a fellow Bwacha's tribesman. Sen Bwacha was said to have chattered a ten-seater airplane which conveyed the Committee from Abuja to Jalingo; the chattered plane left Abuja yesterday 4 pm, and landed at Danbaba Suntai Airport Jalingo. It is also being circulated that Sen Bwacha has distributed bribe money, running into several hundreds of millions of naira at APC National Secretariat in order to secure Taraba State APC gubernatorial ticket.
Following up to this issue, The Committee was scheduled to meet with aspirants and security agencies at 7 am this Thursday morning, but the Committee failed to show up for both meetings. Efforts to trace and locate the Committee at its hotel residence, and elsewhere, failed. Then information filtered that the Committee was at a secret location, waiting for the Bwacha group to finish doctoring results of the Primary elections and then hand such to the Committee.
