The Neglect Of Wurkum People By Gov. Ishaku And The PDP In Taraba State

The administration of Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku in Taraba State seems to be making a disastrous mistake in its climaxing days in office that would mar the good works of his administration and further plunged the People's Democratic Party (PDP) into the abyss of oblivion, into a downward spiral of failure and make her lose her grip of power completely from the state.

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has held sway of uninterrupted political power in Taraba state for years but that grip on power would soon be a thing of the past if the party continue to toe the calamitous path it is currently sojourning through in the forthcoming 2023 elections.

This act would not only submerge the party like a ship that was hit by a torpedo but the party would sink deeper than the Titanic ship sank into the bottom of the ocean. Her destruction would sound lounder than the sound of two atomic bombs and would fling the party far away from the seat of power in the state if it does not make a recant of these disastrous miscalculations.

This is due to no other reason than the open, brazen, shameful and spiteful political neglect of the Wurkum people in Taraba State. The Wurkum people have been vehemently denied the helms of affairs in this state. The Wurkum people are one of the most populated people in the state who are industrious, hardworking and have toiled and laboured hard for the party and have contributed enormously to the growth of this great party in the state, but how have they been repaid? Your guess is as good as mine.

The deliberate side-lining and neglect of the Wurkum people in Taraba State who are infact an integral part and parcel of the Taraba union is an eyesore and saddening. It is more saddening that a party as populated, hardworking and industrious are left to scramble for crumbs in the political centre in Taraba State; a state where they are equal shareholder and hold equal stakes.

We as Tarabians can no longer pretend that all is well in Taraba State when some groups have been openly marginalised and stripped naked in the market square, as an injustice to one is an injustice to all. The Wurkum Nation totally deserve to be given an opportunity at the helms of affairs in the state.

Must the People's Democratic Party (PDP) wait till this becomes a horrendous situation in Taraba State before they act? There is the popular saying that; "to be forewarned is to be forearmed" and "a stitch in time saves nine".

If the People's Democratic Party (PDP) decides to neglect this then it is visible to blind and audible to the deaf that the party is digging its own grave in the state and deliberately plotting its own downfall.
