Gambo Mubarak Raise Concern Over Insecurity in Bali, Gassol, Reps Direct Security Chiefs To Act



 
The House of Representatives has urged the chief of defence staff to initiate a joint security operation in communities bordering Taraba and Plateau states.

This was sequel to a motion OF urgent public importance by member representing Bali/Gassol Federal Constituency , Abdussalam Gambo Mubarak on the urgent need for military intervention to flush out bandits in the areas.

The lawmaker expressed concern that armed banditry in the area has seriously increased with several reported cases of killings, rape and kidnappings on daily basis.

 

Rep. Mubarak bemoaned the increased and continuous rate of killings, kidnappings and general insecurity in Taraba State and its neighbouring States which have continued to claim a high number of lives and properties.

He further expressed concern about the possibility of food insecurity in the region as people are now afraid to go to farms and markets in the State.

Mubarak stated that the problem has totally paralyzed economic and agricultural activities in the area which may lead to hunger and poverty if not addressed.

He expressed concern that if the problem is not addressed, it will worsen the already volatile security situation in Taraba state.

Adopting the motion, the House urged the ministry of humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social development and the North/East development commission to assess the extent of damage and provide relief materials to Victims.

It also called for the establishment of military bases in the affected areas.

How District Head Was Shot Dead Inside Maisamari Mosque

 

Concerns are mounting over motives of the killing of the district head of  Maisamari town of Sardauna Local Council of Taraba State Alhaji Abdulkadir Maisamari inside a mosque during prayers.

   

Gunmen have killed stormed the  mosque at about 7:25p.m. on Monday, during the Ishaa prayers left many worshippers  injured during the attack.

  

It was gathered that the gunmen, who came in their numbers, stormed the mosque during the prayers and started shooting sporadically.

  

 

Another  source from the community said,  but for timely intervention of the people from the community who thronged out en-mass to confront the gunmen,  more casualties would have been recorded.

  

 

He said: "The residents of the community came out in their large numbers to confront the gunmen, which forced them to flee into the surrounding mountains of the town. "

 

"The residents were courageous enough to come out when the shooting started and forced the gunmen to escape, hence nobody was abducted by the gunmen and normalcy has since returned to the town."

   

Meanwhile, the killed monarch,  Alhaji Abdulkadir Maisamari, has been buried  according to the Muslim rites.

   

Contacted, spokesperson for  the state command, Deputy Superintendent of  Police (DSP) Usman Abdullahi, confirmed the incident, but he did not give the details as he was still expecting additional information from the Divisional Police Officer  (DPO) in  the area.

  

The incident occurred  barely two weeks after armed bandits attacked worshippers in a mosque in Bali Local Council and  killed three people, while  several others were abducted.

 

 

Group Wants Babangida Nguroje To Contest Senate Central Zone

 

Taraba Central Peoples Assembly, a Non Governmental Organization has call on former Deputy Speaker and member representing Kurmi, Gashaka and Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Babangida Nguroje to contest for Taraba Central Senatorial Zone in the 2023 general elections.

 

In a communique issued after its National Executive Council meeting held in Jalingo, the organization said the call has become imperative in view of the quality representation of Babangida Nguroje at the House of Representatives in two thousand and three to two thousand and eleven.

 

It further noted that the group has carried out a vigorous consultations and researches which preempted them to take the decision, describing Nguroje as not only a useful youth that touched many lives irrespective of religion or ethnic affiliation, but he is equally competent to drag development to the zone.

 

The communiqué promises to purchase nomination and expression of interest forms as well as constitutes a campaign organization should Babangida Nguroje agreed to respond positively to the clarion call.

 

The group said it believed on a politician that has been tested and performed credible Well to take over the enormous task of representing the zone at the Senate in 2023.

 

The communique which was signed by its chairman, Reverend Aloysius Francis and secretary, Bashar Yunusa therefore appealed to leaders and stakeholders to give the organization their maximum support and encouragement to enable it achieve the desired objective.

 

 

2023: Gov. Ishaku Restates Commitment To Zoning

 

Taraba State  Governor Darius Ishaku while restating his commitment to zoning of political offices has described the zoning arrangements of the People's Democratic Party as a masterstroke that carries every one along.

 

The Governor  speaking when Forum of Kuteb PDP executives and delegates appointed him as their Grand Patron at the Government House Jalingo opined that since Nigeria is a multi national and diverse Country makes it expedient for zoning for to be maintained for every one to play it's part in governance.

 

Governor Darius Ishaku said PDP is the only political party that was originally formed to improve the lots of the citizens.

 

The Governor solicited for prayers from people of the State for the sooth emergence of the next Governor that will take over from him to continue with his developmental strides.

 

He thanked the Forum for appointing him as their Grand Patron.

 

Commenting,Former Member of the House of Representatives Sam Tsokwa who is Patron of the Forum promised their resolve to always stand by Governor Darius Ishaku who believes in Justice and fairness.

 

He averred that delegates are representative of the people hence the need for them to work in tandem with the people and designated authority.

 

Earlier,Leader of the Kuteb PDP Executives and delegates Andetarang Iramae told the Governor that the Forum was established since twenty ten.

 

He saluted Governor Darius Ishaku for initiating viable developmental programs in the State which necessitated his appointment as their Grand Patron and subsequent endorsement of the group in support of his Senatorial ambition.

 

High point of the ceremony was the investiture of Governor Darius Ishaku as Grand Patron of the Kuteb PDP Executives and Delegates Forum performed by the Patron former Member House of Representatives Sam Tsokwa.

 

Gov. Ishaku Presents N700m Grants for 13,243 Taraba women

 

Over 13,000 from  three Local Government Areas of Taraba State have received a grant of N60,000 each under the  Nigeria for Women Project.

The Nigeria for Women Project (NFWP) is a flagship project of the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs. The Project has an objective of supporting improved livelihoods for women in targeted communities of Nigeria.

At a ceremony held at the Jolly Nyame Stadium, Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku who flagged off the distribution, announced that 13,243 women would receive grants of a maximum of N60,000 each, with the distribution of N789,000,000 to women groups under the Nigeria for Women project.

The women who received the funds under the pilot implementation of the programme are from Takum, Bali and Zing Local Government Areas of the State.

  Governor Ishaku said the women who received the grants were those who submitted themselves to the tenets of Nigeria for Women Project and had proven themselves capable of handling growth, after practiced the methodology of savings and loans and had also acquired financial, business, gender, and life skills training.

Governor Ishaku assured that  the programme of empowerment for women started under the Nigeria for Women project would continue until all the beneficiaries with successful business plans had received their grants.

He advised recipients of the grants to keep strictly to the tenets of the agreements they had signed.

 Also speaking at the  ceremony, Taraba State Deputy Governor and chairman of the Steering Committee of the project in Taraba State Engr Haruna Manu commended Governor Ishaku for his unflinching support by promptly approving the required counterpart funds of ₦200 million for the project.

This, he said, had been largely responsible for the success of the project. He disclosed that the Nigeria for Women project in Taraba State was targeting a total of 54,000 women in the three implementing Local Government Areas.

Taraba State coordinator of the project,  Mrs Ruth Mshelia described the experimental in Taraba State as a huge success and commended traditional rulers and other community leaders in the state for their roles in ensuring the successful outcome.

What I Will Do Differently As Member  Representing Donga Constituency   - Engr Ushiki 

 

 

Engr. Danladi Ushiki Adamu recently took up the challenge of been exceptional in representing the good people of Donga when he purchased Peoples Democratic Party PDP Nomination forms  varying for the member representing Donga constituency in the Taraba state house of Assembly.

Speaking to our correspondent while submitting his nomination forms at the PDP Secretariat Jalingo,     Engr. Ushiki vowed to attract more government presence and lobby for dividend of democracy that will benefit the people if given the mandate to represent them at the Taraba State House of Assembly.

"As a team player, I will collaborate with other colleagues and deployed my  professional knowledge and experience to promote good governance  in Taraba State and deliver economic and sustainable infrastructure to the people of Donga."

Born   first of January 1961 in Nyimui, Donga local government area of Taraba State, Engr. Adamu Danladi Ushiki, FNSE, NICE, ACostE attended his primary school education in LSB/Ekan Primary School, Nyita, before  and proceeding to Mbiya Secondary School, Takum, September, 1976 to June, 1981. Thereafter, he got admitted into the Ahmadu Bello University, Bauchi (Now Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi); October, 1981, and obtained the Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) Honors Degree, Civil Engineering in July 1987.

 

He served as a lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering of Kaduna State Polytechnic during his mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and was thereafter employed as an Assistant Lecturer by the same Kaduna State Polytechnic.

 

After a  stint with the Kaduna State Polytechnic, he joined the then Gongola State Government Civil Service as a Civil Engineer || and rose through the ranks to become the Director, Civil Engineering, Ministry of Works and Transport, Taraba State before being appointed as a Permanent Secretary in November, 2019.

 

Over the years, he acquired requisite skills and experience in planning, survey, design, construction, supervision, procurement and management of engineering infrastructure like roads, bridges, drainages and rural electrification in the defunct Gongola and the present Taraba States by direct Labor and through Contracts.

 

In recognition of his visionary and exemplary leadership qualities, he was appointed by the Taraba State Government as Chairman, Caretaker Committee of Donga Local Government Area, Taraba State from April – July. 2006

 

Engineer Ushiki retired from the Civil Service as Permanent Secretary in December, 2020 and took up the position of Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer and Principal Partner of PUKIEL Global Concept Ltd and Tower Engineering Consultants Ltd respectively from January, 2021 to date.

 

Before living the civil service Engr. Ushiki  served as a Member of the Visitation Panel to the Taraba State University, Jalingo from June – September, 2016. Engineer Adamu, FNSE is a mentor among the youth/young Engineers, and a grassroot mobiliser of human resources for development.
