Excitement As Abarshi Musa Joins Race To Represent Ussa Constituency
A former Chairman Ussa local government council Hon.Abarshi Musa has picked the nomination form of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP to contest for member, Taraba House of Assembly representing Ussa in the next election.
Hon.Abarshi said he took the decision to contest after due consultation with critical stakeholders of Ussa Local Government Area whom assured him of their supports.
Hon.Abarshi was an administrative officer until his voluntary retirement from the state civil service in 2012, to run for the seat of the Executive Chairman of Ussa Local Government Area, he recently resigned his appointment as Special Adviser to Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku.
An indigene of Ussa, GODWIN Audu who expressed happiness over the decision of Hon Abarshi Musa to contest for a seat at the State Assembly in the forthcoming election said the politician won the hearts of the people of Ussa with his human approach, and understanding the needs of the ordinary citizen at the grassroots.
According to him when Abarshi Musa was the council chairman, the entire communities in Ussa enjoyed relative peace because of his presence in Lissam, as he was always accessible by women and youth; his persistent monthly security meetings between herdsmen and farmers brought guaranteed peace in Ussa.
Audu added that Hon Abershi also provided scholarship to indigenes of Ussa who were in tertiary institutions. "He paid school fees of Law Students who were indigenes of Ussa. Forty students from all the eight wards were also registered for WAEC, courtesy Hon Abershi. Most of them are graduates now, working in various establishments within and outside the state. He also addressed the issue of unemployment in the local government by recruiting over three hundred indigenes of Ussa in to local government service in 2012. Some of the people he helped are today senior officers in the civil service, and some are on permanent payroll of Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
"While serving as chairman of Ussa local government area, constituents got free medical treatment both within and outside the state. Worthy of mentioning is the case in 2013 of a woman whom had cancer for five years and Abershi as chairman took her for treatment at ABUTH, Zaria, and footed her bills. He took the empowerment of his people seriously thus providing them with sewing machines, hairdressing kits, vehicles, motorcycles among others.
The people of Ussa local government area can never forget Hon Abershi Musa for the quality leadership he exhibited during his tenure as a chairman. He relocated to Lissam the headquarter of Ussa after being sworn in in 2012, he remained there until the end of his tenure in 2015. This gave him room to curtail insecurities in the local government which resulted to the peace enjoyed in Ussa, with all these qualities our votes will be for him in 2023 elections," Audu said.
