Aku Uka Urges Subjects To Protect 40MW Kashimbilla Hydro-Power Plant

the Paramount ruler of the Jukun race and Aku-Uka of Wukari, Manu Ishaku Adda Ali, Amatakhitswen has called on the people to protect and safeguard the 40MW Kashimbilla hydro-power plant and other electricity equipment/properties around them.

 

 

The ancient city of Wukari, in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State was thrown into excitement as the 40MW Kashimbilla hydro-power plant illuminated the town.

 

Reacting to the development, the Royal Father also urges the people to comply with prompt payment of bills to help in the smooth operation of the provider and to help in conserving energy by using only what they need.  

 

He further appeals to the government to extend electricity to the nooks and crannies of the communities to avail this important social amenity to the people.

 

Appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari for completing the electricity project , which was started during the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan, the Aku Uka said the completion of the project had been the dream of Tarabans who had been longing for a reliable power source that will cater for their needs.

Meanwhile residents of Rufu Community in Ussa Local government area of Taraba State has appealed to the state government to facilitate the connection of the community to national grid.

 

The Residents said if connected to electricity the community will become a hub for business activities and contribute actively to the socio economic development of the state.

 

According to the residents, the need for the area to be connected to electricity cannot be overemphasized, as with electricity the community will compete favourably economically.

 

The Wakili Tikitab Rufu, Garba Wengkan and Mohammed Akama, said that if the area is connected to the national grid it will boost business activities in the area.

 

They described the community as full of economic potentials which needed electricity to grow.

 

The national chairman Rufus Development Association, Comrade Diyo Kika, appealed to the state government as a matter of urgency come to their aids, as the Rural Electrification Project of the community was abandoned long ago.

 

The Vice Chairman of the Rufus Development Association, Comrade Amos Rimamtan and other residents who added their voices to the appeal, commended state government and stakeholders of the community for finding it Worthy for government programmes and said since Lissam the headquarters of Ussa Local government is enjoying electricity the community which shares common boundary with Lissam stand a chance to enjoy same in no hurry time, hence the need for government to facilitate the project.
