2023: Former Head of Service, Danladi Kifasi Commences Consultations

 

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, a former Head of Service of the Federation, Barr. Danladi Kifasi has commenced consultations among key political, traditional and religious leaders in the state to seek election for office of the governor.

 

This follows an appeal by youth and students leaders, Trade Unions, community leaders and stakeholders who converged in Abuja on Saturday urging him to join in the race to succeed the incumbent governor Darius Ishaku on the platform of All Progressives Congress APC in 2023.

 

They say Barr. Kifasi has the experience as the number one manager of the nation's workforce to take Taraba to greater heights, urging him not to decline their request.

 

One of the leaders, Alhaji Adamu Hamid Adams, a native of Donga said Barr. Kifasi left an excellent footprint as former Head of Service of the Federation and undeniable integrity. 

 

According to Alhaji Hamid, Barr. Kifasi embarked on series of reforms that brought sanity into the nation's civil service, expressing optimism that he will deploy his managerial acumen to raise the standard of living of people of Taraba if elected the next governor.

 

While adding that the Former Head of Service has since retirement continued to show the people of the state care by embarking on series of humanitarian interventions, he expressed optimism that if elected the next governor, he will strengthen unity and peaceful co-existence among the various ethnic groups in Taraba and bring his experience to bear in fighting insecurity.

 

Also speaking, a youth leader, Patience Joshua decried the level of backwardness experienced in Taraba State over what she called perennial maladministration.

 

She said the call for Barr. Kifasi to join in governorship race of the state is borne out of concern from a vast majority of Tarabans to have a focused leadership which will rescue the state from what she called shackles of bad governance.

 

"He is a man of the people who is known and accepted across the three Senatorial Districts of our dear state. He has consistently shown our people love and care, he does not discriminate and above all he has the credentials to lead the state to Promised Land.

 

"Taraba has got it wrong with leadership over time and I believe this is man God has sent to wipe our tears. He will bring progress and development, get our youths meaningfully engaged and tackle insecurity so that our people will sleep with their eyes closed" she said.

 

In his response, Barr. Kifasi expressd gratitude to the concerned indigenes of Taraba for their call on him to join the 2023 governorship race.

 

While expressing disappointment with the level of under-development in the state, the ex-Head of Service said he is overwhelmed by the crowd who came from various groups and local governments to seek his acceptance to contest the number office in the state.

 

He said when elected, as a former HoS who never missed salaries of Nigerian workers for one month, he will pay due attention to the welfare of workers and ensure that their families and dependents are not subjected to undue hardship. 

 

While promising to prioritize private sector resuscitation, youth empowerment, agriculture and industry, he urged the supporters to give him more time to consult before making his intention known to them.
