Ward Councilor Constructs Two Boreholes For Yuzeti Community In Yorro
After so many years of lack of water, Yuzeti Community has finally berth a sigh of relief as Councilor representing Pupule C Ward in Yorro Local Government, Hon. Markus Ishaya has constructed two new hand pump boreholes for the community.
Members of the community who were elated by the drilling of the boreholes and access to clean, safe drinking water for the first time rolled out drums to celebrate their victory over lack of portable water in the community.
Speaking on Behalf of the Yuzeti Community, Mr. Zaphaniah Yakub said the community had lack access to clean and portable water over the years.
''It is like a dream. Under our eyes we have seen, touched and behold the dividends of democracy. This is the first of it's kind in our community, we had never felt any government presence here and our children have been taking water from dirty ponds. We thank God for blessing us with a kind-hearted politician who has come to our rescue even when we thought all hope were lost".
Also the Village Head of Yuzeti Community, Jauro Ibrahim Vomako was filled with gratitude said the water project would make life easier for members of his community who had suffered lack of water for many years.
He said Hon. Markus Ishaya Manang is a God send leader that has never forget the good people of Yuzeti Community while describing him as philanthropist and ambassador of development and progress.
Other residents of the community who spoke with joy, Nuhu Joseph, Bulus Kakong, and Francis Shonta agreed that project will go a long way in alleviating the water problem in the community.
Speaking to newsmen while inspecting the project, Hon. Markus Ishaya said he was prompted to construct the water project in Yuzeti Community to compliment the efforts of Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku to rescue the state.
"You know our Governor is the water man of the year, he has special passion for making water accessible to the people, so I borrowed a leaf from him by ensuring that Yuzeti Community in Pupule C Ward gets water, I commend our Governor's leadership style in providing dividend of Democracy in Taraba state.
"Like I have always said these projects are from savings from what I earn as representative of my people and supports from my leaders like Member Representing Yorro, Alhaji Gwampo, Chairman of Yorro Local government, Hon, Joseph's Sanwere; my Mentor and Boss, member Representing Kurmi constituency in the state House of Assembly. Dr. Tafarki Agbadu Eneme to the realization of this this great achievement. Many other person who brought a suggestions to this achievement. I will continue to do more for my people at all level of governance I found myself."
Hon. Markus Ishaya was recently given an award of commendation by the Conference of the United Methodist Women for his numerous projects in his ward since he was elected as Councilor Pupule C Ward in Yorro Local Government.
