Anti Party: Buhari Appointee Endorses PDP Senator For Taraba Governor

·         APC Members Want Ahmed Yusuf  Suspended

An appointee of President  Muhammadu Buhari and   chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC in Taraba state, Engr Ahmed Yusuf has vowed to stand by governorship aspiration of  Senator Emmanuel Bwacha in 2023.

Senator Bwacha, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP is the Senate Deputy Minority Leader, representing Taraba South Senatorial District.

President Buhari has appointed Engr  Ahmed Yusuf as a Federal Commissioner of the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission RMAFC  representing Taraba State after he was defeated by the PDP in 2019 election where he contested for Senator Taraba North under the APC.

However some members of the APC has called for the indefinite suspension of Engr Ahmed Yusuf describing his conduct as against the overall interest of the APC in Taraba state

Speaking in Jalingo when a Fulani Youth Group urged  Senator Bwacha to contest for the Governorship of the state come 2023, Ahmed Yusuf described the Senator as one of the pioneer leaders of the state who have political capacity  to put Taraba on the right trajectory for its development.

Commending the Fulani Youths  for pitching their tent Senator Bwacha,  Ahmed Yusuf said his association with Bwacha has nothing to do with the current political arrangement,  "I have come a long way with Senator Emmanuel Bwacha dating back 40 years."

 "We are pioneer leaders of Taraba State, the very first set of people that were the executive council of Taraba State when the state was created. Senator Emmanuel Bwacha was commissioner for Agriculture, I was commissioner for Finance, Danbaba Suntai was Commissioner for Education and Habi Maddibo was Commissioner for Commerce, Sam Tsokwa  was Commissioner for Housing and host of others.

"So, like I said earlier on, we are the first set of executive council for Taraba State and we law the original foundation for Taraba State. And we cannot fold our hands and allow anybody to rubbish us. He who comes to equity must come with clean hands and I am challenging anybody in Taraba State that would make any attempt to distort this historical fact.

"The fact that we have not been talking for a long time does not mean we should be taken for a ride. I think if there is anybody or any group that have the capacity as a political and moral right, we are the one that can bring ourselves to say we are the architect of modern Taraba and we will make sure we put Taraba on the right trajectory for its development.

"So, all these shenanigans that were taking place, we are noting them and at the appropriate time we will be in position to make ourselves very ready for it and its necessary reply. So, my association with Emmanuel Bwacha has been a long time and not something that started today and I will not betray nor forsake my friend and I will stand by him and stand for him."

Meanwhile members of the APC under the auspice of  Taraba Progressives Movement  has called for the suspension of Engr Ahmed Yusuf for what they described as an "embarrassment to the Taraba APC's efforts to win the next governorship election" 

The movement coordinator Muhammad Umaru said  activities of some APC leaders around PDP's Senator Bwacha calls for concern that should be urgently addressed by the party.

"The APC have several individuals capable of winning the governorship election in 2023, Bwacha is not a member of the APC, we know how he described the APC as a Muslim Party in 2025 and 2019 but nevertheless we will welcome him to our party whenever he chooses to join.

"But we must be very clear the APC Governorship ticket is not up for grab, the APC can win the next election with or without Bwacha.

"As at today Bwacha is ranking member of the PDP in the National Assembly, its total against the party for anyone who claim to be a leader in our party, an appointee of Mr President to be endorsing him for governor when he should be promoting his party APC, Ahmed Yusuf's endorsement of Bwacha should be rebuffed by every right thinking progressives in Taraba state. Bwacha is part of the PDP mess APC would clean when elected in 2023.

"We want the State and National leadership of the APC to immediately suspend Ahmed Yusuf and forward a letter demanding his sack  as a Commissioner in RMAFC should be forwarded  to Presidency.

"we as members of  the APC in Taraba state are embarrassed that one of our leaders went ahead to endorse the aspiration of a PDP member for Governor,  people like that should not be trusted with benefits of the party, Gamaliya has placed his personal and selfish interest above the interest of the APC in Taraba state, his statement at the endorsement of Bwacha has portrayed the party as unserious and not united to go into the 2023 elections," Umaru said in a statement.
