Taraba APC Congress Holds On Sunday As Elsudi Gives Reasons Why Restraining Court Order Can't Be Obeyed
Caretaker Chairman of All Progressives Congress APC in Taraba State Barr. Tukur Ibrahim Elsudi has given reasons why the Party cannot obey a Court order restraining it from holding it's Congress, saying the Congress will hold tomorrow (Sunday) at it's Secretariat in Jalingo.
Elsudi said the National Secretariat of the APC in Abuja has not been served with any court order restraining it from conducting a state Congress in Taraba State.
"The National Secretariat has not been served with any court order, the order flying around on social media is not known to us.
"The Court says go and served APC and they have not served us and we cannot work on what we didn't see, we have to see the original Court Papers signed by the judge then we will obey.
"As a lawyer, am telling you when there is no personal service you can't be charged for not obeying but once Its served on you and you sign and collect, you must obey or be charged for contempt now if we go ahead with our Congress we cannot be charged for contempt because the National Secretariat is not aware of the order," Elsudi said.
Speaking on the heavy presence security agents at the APC state Secretariat in Jalingo, Elsudi said the police were on ground to provide security "for us to hold our Congress, their presence at our Secretariat is fully with our knowledge.
"We are supposed to have our Congress today (Saturday) but unfortunately the flight did not leave Lagos but we are coming into Taraba tomorrow, the Congress will hold tomorrow at the Party Secretariat in Jalingo." Elsudi said.
