Join Golf Clubs, Gov. Ishaku urges Youths Tarabans
Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku has encouraged youths and Students to embracing golfing as a sport, stressing that golf does not discriminate.
The Governor was speaking during a birthday kitty organized for him by the DDI Golf Club to commemorate his 67th birthday at the Taraba State University, urged students of the Taraba State University to join the DDI Golf Club.
He stated that Golf is a game that can be played by people of different age grade discouraging the idea that it is only for the wealthy in the Society.
Governor Darius Ishaku who is the Grand Patron of the Club pledged to give his input to develop the Golf Club to be one of the best in the Country.
The Governor applauded the Vice Chancellor of the Taraba State University, Prof Vincent Ado Tenebe for his efforts at ensuring that Taraba State University moves to greater heights.
He thanked the Golf Club for celebrating his birthday promising to support Taraba State University to be among ten best Universities in the Country.
Commenting, Vice Chancellor of the Taraba State University Vincent Tenebe said the Club decided to organize the birthday Kitty to honour Governor Darius Ishaku who is the Grand Patron of the Club and Visitor of the TSU.
Tenebe, thanked him for providing funds to run the citadel of learning leaning to be among top best University in the Country.
In his remarks, Commissioner of Finance Jesse Adi Ashumate commended the efforts of Governor Darius Ishaku to the Club that has now made golf to be attractive to many people.
He congratulated him for clocking sixty seven and wished him more years in the service to State and humanity.
High point of the ceremony was the presentation of award of excellence to Governor Darius Ishaku as best Student Governor of the Year in recognition of his meritorious Service to the entire Students of the State by Taraba State University Students Union Government SUG, Golf driving cage presented by the Director Sports of the State Sports Council George Shitta and cutting of the cake among others.
Golfers from Adamawa, Bauchi, Permanent Secretary Government House Administration Chindo Audu,Commissioner of Finance Jesse Ashumate,Professor Benny Dauda Captain of Female Golfers,Professor Nicholas Namesan Oliver and others took part in the Golf tournament.
